Do I need a referral?

Physiotherapists are first contact practitioners so you do not require a doctor’s referral, simply get in contact and book an appointment today. There are some instances where a doctor’s referral is required (Eg. Medicare or DVA).

How much does therapy cost for NDIS?

Can I claim using my Private Health Insurance?

Yes! You can claim your Physiotherapy services using your private health insurance if you have extras cover for Physiotherapy. All health funds are different so you may want to call your health fund to check that your policy covers Physiotherapy and how much your fund will pay for each treatment.

Can I claim through Medicare?

If you are suffering from a chronic condition or have complex care needs you may be eligible for up to 5 Physiotherapy treatments subsidised through Medicare per year. You will need to see your doctor first to get a referral.

What do I need for my first appointment?

We just need you and any relevant information from your doctor or other healthcare professional that might help us understand your needs. If you have had any tests or reports eg. X-ray, CT scan, MRI then please have them available.

If you are an NDIS participant, a copy of your NDIS Plan Goals is helpful so that we can see how Physiotherapy can best help you achieve your goals.

As you will most likely need to move your body during the assessment, it is best to wear something comfortable and non restricting. If you have an upper limb injury singlets are preferred so we can see the site of injury. Likewise, shorts for lower limb injuries.

What do I need to know about my first appointment?

Your Physiotherapist will listen to your story and complete a thorough assessment, starting with a chat and moving into observing your movement. Your session will include hands-on treatment, advice and exercises to help with your recovery. You will leave the appointment with a clear idea of your treatment plan.
